Greyt Stories is a nonprofit that connects reading-age children (Greyt Callers) with elders (Greyt Listeners) through supervised, weekly phone calls. Children read aloud to their matched elder for approximately 10 minutes each week over a 12-16 week cycle.
Our first cycle begins June 1, 2026.
Phone-only format - no in-person meetings
Weekly 10-minute calls scheduled at your convenience
Supervised and monitored - program coordinators provide ongoing support
Flexible scheduling - accommodates your family’s routine
No cost to participate - completely free for families
Community service hours - children can earn credit for participation

Greyt Stories pairs you with a young reader who will call you weekly to share their reading journey. Your role is to listen, encourage, and enjoy the connection.

Greyt Stories connects you with an elder friend who loves to hear you read! Every week, you’ll call your Greyt Listener and read together for about 10 minutes.
